Here we go...

Luckily before I packed I tried the zipper on this bag and it's broken. I do have another large one with no wheels that seems to be working and who needs wheels with such a terrific helper!

Getting Ready

I guess I might have more help than I thought tomorrow! N is pushing my empty suitcase all over the house but blogger hasn't been cooperating with me in uploading my pictures so I'll try again later.

Happy Father's Day!

Yikes, this week got away from me and my Father's day cards didn't get into the mail! Honestly, I really don't worry much because I know that my Dad loves me regardless of what I do or don't do for him. Just as with our Heavenly Father we can't do anything to earn that kind of love. Our love for each other has been a lifetime in the making and I am so grateful for it everyday of my life!!! (I thought about mailing it today but I'd rather hand deliver it when I see him this week, yippie!) I just love the above picture of my Dad with my son when he was just two weeks old, so sweet. I took this picture of Adam and our cutie a couple of weeks ago. I just love how they are both relaxing in the shade of a very large tree and it is a reminder for me of that perfect family day. I just can't believe how my love for him has grown as our son has. It brings tears to my eyes just knowing how much he loves us. I am constantly telling N throughout the day that it's because Daddy loves you so much he leaves to go to work, but daddy's heart is still right here with you. You really have to have a HUGE heart to leave it at home for a long work day. Our son is so blessed to have you for his father. Happy Father's Day.

Memories Are Made of Days Like This

This afternoon we drove to a nearby town that was having a festival. Before we went to the actual parade and festival we stopped to pick our own cherries. As we pulled in to the driveway I said aloud "We should have brought the camera." Adam looks at me and I look at him and we sort of shrug it off. See, he is a very good photographer (it's a hobby for him) and he is always the one that grabs the camera but I am always the one to suggest it!

It was really the cutest thing seeing our son doing exactly what we were. He'd reach up high and pick the cherries off the lowest branches and come and drop them into my bucket. All of us really did have a blast. It really became funny because he was being so cute and there were about a dozen or so picture perfect moments. Oh well, I guess that's what God gave us memories for!!! It's also not like we have a shortage of pictures currently there are 452 pictures on our memory card since we last wiped it and the first picture is from 4/22.

Anyway, he watched his first parade today too....really fun day together.

A Kiss Really Does the Trick

The other day I stubbed my toe really good and I was trying not to make a big deal of it since my beautiful son really dislikes it when I hurt myself. If I make it obvious he comes running over saying "ow, Mommy, ow, Mommy" over and over and I didn't want him to get upset. Well being the observant little cutie that he is somehow he still knew I needed him. He came running over and stood infront of me quizzically staring at his silly Mom pursing her lips together to prevent a scream and trying to walk it off. He stood there until I could tell him what happened and then I said do you think you could kiss Mommy all better? Well he did and it really did give me a warm fuzzy and I forgot about the toe. For the record he didn't kiss my toe, just a regular good ol' kiss and hug from a son what could be better?

Looking Forward to Travel

I know that I will miss my hubby very dearly when baby bear and I travel to visit friends and family in LAla land and central California next week. I never sleep very well without him by my side, and I'm thrilled and grateful that we both do MUCH better together that we get along apart! This morning I have decided that the one thing I won't miss will be ironing his shirts even though I have learned to make ironing bearable and maybe even fun (thanks Mom). My Mom told me of a woman that when asked about ironing her hubby's shirts she said that she wanted to do it because it was like giving her husband a big hug everyday. I really like that image and I do use the time to pray for his day and learn new songs (I have a fold out ironing board and I have lyrics taped to the door and inner portion of the cabinet.) So far I've learned stuff from the King and I, Sound of Music and the rest of the verses to Jesus loves me, (who knew it had more than just the one!), among others. In fact today I'd better print out some new lyrics since I'll need to have a massive ironing fest over the weekend so he'll have enough while I'm gone. I guess after writing this I just might miss this time more than I thought! (BTW I will learn how to format this so that I don't end up with a run on paragraph. I just haven't taken the time yet!)

Where are they all?

Today as I was picking up toys I began to wonder where all of our balls were hiding. I looked around a little and then remembered that my baby bear went though a phase of putting them in the little hole in the bass speaker of our sound system. The two are still in there from months ago and since his hands are much smaller than ours we can’t get them out. Still, I know that we had many more balls than I can find and then I catch a glimpse of something as I’m standing up….. I guess he did understand that he wasn’t supposed to put them in the speaker anymore so he tossed them over the speaker and behind the TV! There were a total of 11 balls piled back there. But nope, I still haven’t found the cordless phone!!!

Praise God for Grandma and Naps

So today was the first day since Friday that N's taken a nap ~ Alleluia!!! I feel like you never know anything 100% for sure since the communication level is well, that of a 2yo. but we are pretty much sure that it's teething related since his lower molars are half way through. I have really been enjoying the past few months since he's been generally sleeping better and I'm not ready to give up nap time yet!!! Running with Grandma and Tiger apparently did the trick today....doing anything for the next say six days G'ma???

My Ladies man...

So N loves flowers, infact any mention of Grandma's house lately and he says "Grandma" and then says and signs "flowers" over and over until we go out front and pick some pansies to take over there. (I'm not sure if I want to put kido first names on here yet so until I figure out what I'm doing I guess we'll go with N) He loves to smell the roses. I'm not usually a big fan of red roses but I had to get these since they are called "opening night". I guess if I ever get in shape enough to dance again I know someone (well two really) who'll bring me flowers on opening night. BTW you can see his summer buzz cut by yours truely in this one. (Just don't look too closely above the right ear, he moved!!!!)

Last weekend's garage sale finds!

So, last weekend our subdivision had a garage sale and there was so much great stuff. I had to stop myself from buying some cute bunk beds that I thought hubby wouldn't want stored in the garage for years until we had kids big enough to use them. I did buy the play slide (which was the item I was actually looking for, everything else was just on impulse!), the litte kitchen (he loves to play with kitchen sets at friends houses so I thought he could have one at home for $2), an umbrella stroller (to use on our upcoming trip to Great-Gram's, it even has adjustable handles), a see and say (since he's almost 2 I figured it's time to breack down and spend the fifty cents already!), and 10 books (really nice ones, a couple Eric Carle and others) . Since we rarely buy him toys (that's what Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles are for!) I felt like I got him a truck load of stuff and well actually the truck was pretty full since the slide thingy is rather large. Anyway, at $40 total for everything I was really thrilled.

Finally!

So, I'm finally setting up a blog. Hopefully this will be a place to journal the normal everyday occurings (and possibly not so normal), keep out of towners updated as well as meet new mama's and learn about new people and new things!
