'Puter Time

It wouldn't be a normal day around here lately without my son asking to use the computer. "Mommy want to click on Clifford." Or Teletubbies or Elmo or whoever from the PBS website.

I'm amazed at how fast he's able to use the mouse and click on things and figure the games out. Not to mention that I think he's too little to be playing games on the computer. Oh, well! I know that he's happy to now be able to have his own time on Mommy's computer!

www.noggin.com has great interactive games for toddlers and preschoolers.

We were amazed when our son was little like that too. He has the best hand eye coordination and can beat me on some games. In moderation computer time can be beneficial to our kids. Sites like PBS, Noggin and starfall provide educational yet fun computer interaction.

Cute picture. He is a child of the 21st century.

It always amazes me too when they start on the computer! And how much they learn from the games they play!

Wait till he is 5 and you are going to him for help. I have given up asking my kids to help me, because their fingers fly so fast and I have no idea what they are doing. My daughter wrote me an idiots guide to powerpoint. Hmmmm. Oh well, I am the one who provided the computer in the first place for them to learn!

They pick this stuff up at such an early age. It is amazing! I'm glad to see that he likes the PBS shows. I have an offer from Scholastic.

I don’t know if you’re familiar with Maya & Miguel, a show on PBS in the afternoons -- http://pbskidsgo.org/mayaandmiguel -- that emphasizes cultural diversity and language learning but I’m reaching out to talk to parents about the program as part of a marketing project I’m working on with Scholastic.

I found your post and thought I’d reach out to say hello and ask if you’d like to receive a free Maya & Miguel DVD. If you’d like to receive the DVD just email me at Kerri at boldmouth.com with your address and I’ll have it shipped it out to you.

If you do choose to blog about Maya & Miguel show or episodes on the DVD, please make it clear how you received the information. Our goal is to be open and honest with everyone we reach.
